Do you care about the environment?

Ever wondered what makes the countryside tick?

If so, visit the Food & Farming for REAL Roadshow at Kilnsey Show to gain an insight into the importance of the Uplands and what happens behind the scenes - from the view you see, to the food on yourplate.

  • The Northern Dales Farmers Market has a fantastic range of delicious produce for you to taste and buy - visit the NDFM food & drink marquee and take away a taste of the Northern Dales
  • Relax in the cookery theatre and pick up some handy tips from leading local chefs and producers
  • Watch the ‘Harvesting the Sun' working farm animals demonstration
  • Experience the ‘Celebration of Arts in the Hill Farming Community' in the arts and culture marquee.
  • Discover why hill farming communities are so important to you in the Food & Farming for REAL marquee
  • There's a much-increased emphasis this year on providing hands-on educational activities for children. All stallholders in the REAL marquee are being encouraged to hold quizzes, while a Children's Cookery Theatre will be led by top chef Andrew Wood, who will invite youngsters to help him bake bread.

In the children's educational theatre, Ian Longstaff will be reading Tales of Timmy the Trout throughout the day and is also bringing along a fish tank full of fingerlings. Other activities to keep the kids entertained include food and farming-based jigsaws and puzzles, a model farmyard with animals, fruit-kebab making, biscuit decorating, colouring and collage-making.

Other attractions include livestock judging, sheep dog trials, dry stone walling, equestrian events, fell races and harness racing.

There's something for everyone at Kilnsey Show - whatever age!

Set against the magnificent backdrop of Kilnsey Crag, the showground is 12 miles North of Skipton on the B6160.
